Overview

As a Software Engineer on SciBite, you will build Python-based data pipelines and AI-enabled data products that unlock insights from large volumes of unstructured scientific data. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to curate vocabularies and ontologies, maintaining production-ready solutions. This role blends research-driven NLP with practical software delivery to support discovery for life sciences customers.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop Python data pipelines
  • Assist curation teams in updating vocabularies and ontologies
  • Support delivery and maintenance of customer-facing solutions
  • Develop software to aid manual curation
  • Create automations across the estate
  • Learn about Elsevier and identify potential collaborations
Key requirements
  • Experience in software development, ideally Python
  • BSc/MSc/PhD in life sciences or STEM
