Overview

As a Python Software Engineer in Investment Technology, you build data processing, workflow, and analytical tools that support investment research, data modelling, and portfolio construction. You work within a global team delivering fast, reliable software with tangible impact on the investment business. You’ll contribute to a cloud-native stack on AWS, collaborating with cross-functional partners to refine products and mentor teammates. This role offers hands-on engineering, architectural impact, and opportunities to drive positive technology change.

Responsibilities
  • Write clean Python code to create reusable components and packages
  • Develop cloud-first solutions with AWS
  • Refine and evolve the platform in response to business needs
  • Collaborate with business users to produce maintainable Python solutions
  • Coach and develop junior engineers to promote best practices
Key requirements
  • 3+ years of Python software development in an enterprise environment
  • Experience with cloud and serverless services (AWS AppSync, Lambda, DynamoDB)
  • Experience building software solutions in Financial Services
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Strong knowledge of Python standard libraries and popular third-party packages
  • Understanding of data structures and data transformation methods
  • Experience with Agile (Scrum), DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Git/GitHub
  • Ability to engage credibly with business and technical users at all levels
