Overview

In this role you will join the Session Management team within Core Products to build and improve backend services that support reliable, scalable customer sessions for millions of players. You will write maintainable Java-based backend code, participate in design discussions, and help document and improve the system. You’ll work closely with engineers, product partners and stakeholders to raise reliability and performance, while learning about scaling systems and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Build and improve backend services and APIs that support session management
  • Write clear, maintainable backend code in Java or similar languages
  • Develop database-backed functionality and ensure high-volume performance
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and planning
  • Investigate bugs and drive practical fixes and improvements
  • Learn scaling, databases, caching and cloud infrastructure
  • Keep documentation up to date for team understanding and support
  • Collaborate with engineers, product partners and stakeholders to improve reliability and performance
  • Foster a culture of Learning, curiosity and engineering judgment
Key requirements
  • Experience building backend software through work, internships or projects
  • Proficiency in Java or a similar object-oriented language
  • Familiarity with databases and SQL and interest in data modelling and performance
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms and software design principles
  • Interest in distributed systems, reliability, monitoring and high-traffic production systems
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, containers or CI/CD is helpful but not required
  • Understanding of testing basics and willingness to write tests
  • Team-oriented, proactive learner with practical problem-solving approach
  • Enthusiasm for backend systems that support customer-facing products at scale
