Overview
In this Software Engineer role at Tes, you’ll contribute to building EdTech solutions that empower schools and educators worldwide. You’ll work in an agile, cross-functional team to deliver robust features, write tests, and improve CI/CD and deployment practices. You’ll help maintain quality across code, tests, and documentation while staying current with best practices. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape scalable systems that support teaching and administration at scale.

- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and functional tests
- Collaborate with QA to support automated testing efforts
- Contribute to code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Deploy code to various environments and support releases
- Suggest improvements to CI/CD pipelines and development workflows
- Monitor and respond to system errors and logs
- Document technical decisions and contribute to team knowledge sharing
- Stay current with best practices and apply them in your work
- Proficient in at least one of: JavaScript, Java, PHP, C#, or other .NET languages
- Familiarity with REST APIs and API integration
- Working knowledge of both NoSQL and relational databases
- Good understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
