Overview

As a Software Engineer at Matillion, you contribute hands-on to build and refine features for the Maia AI Data Automation platform. You work within small cross-functional teams, turning stories into implementable tasks and improving test automation. You’ll explore new technologies and streamline development through automation, while supporting customer-facing colleagues and diagnosing issues from logs. This is a hands-on, growth-focused role where you help shape scalable data solutions in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Hands-on software development for Matillion products
  • Refine and break down stories with senior engineers
  • Develop and improve unit/API tests and automation
  • Prototype and research new technologies for future opportunities
  • Improve development processes through automation and open source solutions
  • Provide responsive support and analyze logs to identify and fix issues
Key requirements
  • Demonstrable Java programming ability
  • Object Oriented Design and Programming
  • SQL understanding and databases
  • Experience of writing production-level tests using JUnit
  • Experience with Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, GWT, Gradle, Jenkins, Linux, scripting for CLI, CI/CD, tool automation
  • Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Public cloud knowledge (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
