As a Software Engineer at Deliveroo you contribute to cross-functional product delivery by improving code quality, architecture, and system health. Responsibilities
  • Improve code structure and architecture; review code across the team
  • Maintain and improve production systems for reliability and observability
  • Lead larger pieces of work and influence team roadmap
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams and identify cross-team opportunities
  • Assist with design, implementation choices and hiring activities
  • Support personal growth of colleagues and promote engineering efficiency
Key requirements
  • Experience building web-based applications in any language
  • Interest in learning Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Experience with web architecture at scale (20k rpm+)
  • Experience with NoSQL data backends (Redis, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Memcache)
  • Ability to write readable, well-tested code
  • Problem-solving of logistical challenges with software
