Software Engineer

Office: Hybrid — 4 days in office (Central London)

We're working with a globally recognised infrastructure and engineering firm operating across some of the UK and Europe's most complex built-environment programmes — spanning transport, water, energy, and sustainability at serious scale. As they invest in their internal digital capability, they're building the tools and data infrastructure that help engineers and project teams make better decisions, faster.

They need a mid-level Python Engineer to join a cross-functional team building the internal tooling, data pipelines and automation services that sit behind that work.

What you'll do:

• Build and maintain Python-based tooling, automation scripts and internal APIs that serve engineering and project delivery teams
• Work with structured and semi-structured data — cleaning, transforming and surfacing it for downstream consumers
• Collaborate with senior engineers and domain experts to translate real-world engineering problems into clean, maintainable code
• Write tests, contribute to code reviews, and help raise the bar on code quality across the team
• Use AI coding assistants as part of your daily workflow

What they need:

• 4–7 years of Python development experience in a professional setting
• Comfortable with SQL and working with relational data
• Experience building or maintaining REST APIs or internal tooling
• Good instincts around clean code, testing and version control (Git)
• Able to work independently on well-scoped problems and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders
