Overview

In this role you will contribute to safety-critical, real-time Air Traffic Control systems as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will work through the full software lifecycle, from analysis to deployment, with mentoring from experienced engineers. The role sits in Whiteley, Hampshire with hybrid working and SC clearance potential, offering exposure to critical national infrastructure. You will help drive reliable software solutions that support safe and efficient air traffic management.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate issues across software applications and supporting systems
  • Develop, implement and maintain software solutions
  • Contribute to software architecture and design activities
  • Support change, configuration and release management
  • Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Formal Test, and project management and technical leads
  • Develop software test plans and support test execution
  • Produce technical documentation and artefacts
  • Follow established engineering processes, standards and best practices
Key requirements
  • Unix/Linux operating systems
  • C, C++, Python, PL/SQL, HTML or JavaScript
  • Python, Bourne Shell or Perl scripting
  • Virtualisation and cloud computing concepts
  • Networking and communications protocols, particularly TCP/IP
  • Software engineering lifecycle activities (requirements, design, development, testing, maintenance)
