Software Engineer

Want to build modern backend services while helping a well-established UK retailer move away from its legacy technology?

We’re looking for a Mid-level Software Engineer to join an in-house engineering team undergoing a significant technology modernisation. Most of your time will be spent building new services using TypeScript, Node.js and AWS, alongside helping migrate functionality and supporting an existing .NET estate.

For this reason we are looking for a mix of both Node.js Typescript and C#.Net experience. The vast majority of your work will be new feature delivery and enhancements to existing functionality in Node.js Typescript but there will be occasions where we need support, maintenance, and the odd feature improvement on the legacy .Net system.

What you’ll be doing

• Building APIs, backend services and integrations using TypeScript and Node.js
• Working with AWS, microservices and event-driven architecture
• Helping migrate legacy .NET applications onto modern services
• Working with SQL, relational databases and system integrations
• Supporting live systems and contributing to testing, code reviews and technical discussions

The role is based in Leamington Spa 1 day a week with a salary ranging from £35k-£50k depending on experience. Benefits include 25 days holiday + bank holidays, 6% pension, 50% off products, healthcare plan, free parking, and more.
