We are looking for a talented Mid-Level Software Engineer to join a growing team based in Belfast. This role focuses on designing, building, and evolving the core systems behind a high-traffic digital platform. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working on high-availability systems, and contributing to the ongoing development of a mature, scalable product.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and maintainable backend systems
- Build and enhance APIs and services supporting web and mobile applications
- Contribute to architecture decisions and technical design discussions
- Write clean, high-quality code with strong test coverage
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams
- Support platform reliability, performance, security, and observability
- Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices
- Take ownership of features and deliver work to agreed timelines
- Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and development standards
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong backend development skills using modern languages and frameworks
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
- Familiarity with cloud-based or distributed systems
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
