Overview

In this role you design and develop safety-critical embedded software for autonomous systems. You will join a specialist engineering team and contribute to software architecture, helping to grow a space with real impact. The role combines hands-on development with shaping system-level decisions, within a regulated, safety-focused domain. You’ll work on next-generation autonomous solutions and collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust, AI-ready software. Office attendance is required three days a week in Oxfordshire.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop safety-critical embedded software for autonomous systems
  • Collaborate with a specialist team to contribute to software architecture
  • Deliver software in an evolving space with tangible impact
  • Work within a regulated environment to ensure compliance and reliability
  • Iterate on software in real-time contexts and integrate with hardware components
Key requirements
  • Strong embedded software background with C, C++, or similar
  • Positive about AI and its application within software engineering and robotics
  • Experience with real-time or embedded systems
  • Familiarity with regulated environments
  • Background in Aerospace, defence, automotive or autonomous systems is highly desirable
  • Degree level or higher in Software Engineering, Robotics, or related field
  • Embedded software development
