Overview
As a Software Engineer at ONI in Oxford, you build automation and analysis software for nanoimaging. You will deliver enterprise-scale C++ applications and cutting-edge image processing/ML solutions to enable non-experts to extract actionable insights from super-resolution data. You’ll debug hardware/software integration and collaborate across software, hardware, and biology teams to align goals and hardware specs. Responsibilities
- Automate data acquisition and analysis for scientists
- Deliver high-quality enterprise-scale software solutions
- Design, implement and test high-performance C++ applications
- Develop image processing/ML solutions for nano-scale microscopy
- Debug hardware/software integration at system and signal levels
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware and software engineers to align software with hardware specs
- Write clear, well-documented, and testable code
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams (software, product management, bioscience, hardware) to ensure aligned goals
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing image processing algorithms/applications (low level, analysis, image understanding)
- Proficient in modern C++ (C++14/17/20) and low-level programming
- Experience with Agile/SCRUM software development
