You will work alongside scientists, engineers and technical specialists to develop and enhance sophisticated software used within industrial sensing and imaging applications. The role offers a combination of improving established platforms and delivering entirely new products and capabilities.

This is an opportunity to work on genuinely varied and technically challenging problems across areas including:

  • Image and data processing
  • Machine learning and advanced analytics

We're looking for a strong, well-rounded Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and working across multiple technical domains.

You should have:

  • At least five years of commercial software development experience.
  • A strong academic or professional background in a STEM-related discipline.
  • Experience working with asynchronous, concurrent, parallel or distributed systems.
  • Good experience with relational databases and data-driven applications.
  • A strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including automated testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery.

Whilst this is a Software Engineering role. The software connexts to hardware, so in this role you will work with Software and Hardware Engineers and other stakeholders

Just as importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys working collaboratively. Experience with pair programming, knowledge sharing and mentoring less experienced engineers would be highly valued.

The Environment

This role would suit someone who is intellectually curious and enjoys working on challenging technical problems rather than being confined to a narrow technology stack.

You'll have the opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle, contribute ideas, influence technical decisions and collaborate closely with experts from a range of scientific and engineering backgrounds.
