Software Engineer - Client Technology

In this role you will help deliver modern digital platforms that enhance client engagement and content distribution. You’ll work across frontend and backend within Schroders’ Client Engagement and Digital Content Platforms team to build scalable, high-quality solutions. You will apply AI-assisted engineering practices to improve productivity and software quality, while balancing engineering excellence with business outcomes. You will collaborate with product managers, analysts, UX specialists and marketing stakeholders to turn requirements into impactful tech delivery. This is an opportunity to shape digital experiences across global markets in a fast-moving, Agile environment.

• Develop and maintain full stack applications using React.js, Next.js, Node.js and cloud-native tech
• Create responsive, accessible UI and high-performing experiences aligned with business needs
• Build backend services, APIs and integrations for secure, scalable digital solutions
• Participate in all SDLC stages: design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring and production support
• Utilise AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity and quality
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, product owners and stakeholders to deliver effective solutions
• Support CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices
• Write automated tests and uphold engineering standards and CI practices
• Monitor production systems and identify opportunities to improve performance and reliability
• Document technical aspects clearly when appropriate
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and take ownership of assigned work
• Evaluate emerging technologies and propose value-adding improvements
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Digital stakeholders to improve client engagement

• Experience developing and supporting modern full stack applications
• Strong experience building web apps with React.js
• Experience with Next.js or equivalent
• Experience developing backend services and APIs using Node.js
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and maintainable architecture
• Experience with cloud technologies; Azure desirable
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and AI lifecycle
• Understanding of automated testing and modern delivery practices
• Experience integrating with Headless CMS platforms
• Familiarity with monitoring, observability and production support
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
