Software Engineer - Core IP Security

In this role you design, build, and operate high-assurance security systems that protect sensitive intellectual property across the full lifecycle. You’ll contribute to cryptographic key management, access control, and governance tooling, working with research stakeholders to embed security controls without friction. You’ll own development across backends, crypto libraries, APIs, and infrastructure, operating in a small, autonomous team with a meaningful impact. This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving, collaborative environment that emphasizes correctness, auditability, and availability. You’ll join a mission-driven firm focused on secure, scalable systems.

- Design and implement high-assurance security systems to protect IP
- Develop and maintain cryptographic key management, access-control policies, and security libraries
- Build and evolve access control, classification, and risk-reporting for governance and auditability
- Develop APIs and integrations embedding security controls into the engineering platform
- Contribute to detection and scanning capabilities for asset protection and control validation
- Operate and harden security-critical infrastructure including dual-control physical servers
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing and execution for critical security systems
- Identify opportunities to simplify or replace existing systems when better approaches exist
- Strong production-quality software experience, ideally with C#/.NET
- Solid understanding of software architecture, concurrency, distributed systems, and API design
- Experience with security-sensitive systems where correctness and auditability matter
- Sound engineering judgement balancing security, performance, reliability, and delivery
- Clear communication and collaborative, pragmatic approach
