Software Engineer - Data, Lakehouse and AI Data Platform Engineer - Vice President - London

In this Data Engineer role, you build and maintain the firm’s modern Lakehouse and AI data platform to enable reliable, governed data use across the organization. You will design and deliver data pipelines and curated datasets that support analytics, reporting and AI use cases, working closely with engineers, platform teams and data consumers. The role blends hands-on coding with platform thinking, aiming to scale data assets in production. You will help shape delivery approaches and engineering standards in a fast-paced environment.

• Build, enhance and support batch and streaming data pipelines on the Lakehouse and AI data platform
• Refactor or modernise data flows to improve reliability, performance and maintainability
• Ensure data pipelines are production-ready, tested and operationally supportable
• Develop raw, refined and curated datasets aligned to business needs for analytics and AI
• Apply data modelling principles to represent entities, relationships and history
• Implement data quality controls and use reconciliation to validate outputs
• Collaborate with engineers, platform teams and data consumers to deliver outcomes on time
• Support junior engineers through technical leadership and guidance

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience
• Strong hands-on programming in Python or Java
• Good working knowledge of SQL including troubleshooting and optimisation
• Ability to learn new tools and delivery workflows quickly
• Familiarity with software engineering fundamentals: version control, testing, release discipline and CI/CD
