Overview
As an Aura DevEx Engineer, you help make Aura a productive platform for Neo4j engineers and external users. You bridge development in the Aura cloud environment with tooling, docs, and AI-enabled workflows, enabling teams to adopt Aura without tribal knowledge. You collaborate with Software Delivery and platform teams to keep the paved road smooth while improving onboarding and developer experience. You shape how developers interact with Aura, from CLIs to docs, to ensure a positive, intuitive experience. This role blends software engineering, developer experience, and practical AI to reduce friction and scale adoption.
Responsibilities- Help non-Aura and Aura teams develop in Aura, reducing onboarding overhead
- Improve workflows, documentation, and tooling for engineers
- Support incubation and onboarding without owning entire products
- Collaborate with Software Delivery to fix issues on the paved road
- Provide feedback to platform teams to enhance usability and extensibility
- Maintain and evolve AI skill files and agent instructions for Aura
- Evaluate AI workflows for quality, cost, and time savings
- Design solutions addressing developers' pain points and onboarding challenges
- Treat DevEx as a product and iterate based on usage data
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Golang experience across multiple projects
- Knowledge of Golang build and packaging
- Solid software engineering experience with developer-facing tools
- Kubernetes and container literacy
- Experience with modern CI/CD and Git workflows
- Clear writing for docs and instructions
- Interest in developers' pain points and platform adoption
