As a Senior Digital Assets Software Engineer in Optiver’s Digital Assets Tech Team in London, you will design and evolve trading systems for crypto markets. You’ll work closely with traders and researchers to translate market insights into production solutions and help shape the digital assets platform. Your work spans connecting to major exchanges, improving reliability, and driving architectural decisions. - Design and build trading systems for digital asset markets
- Develop and manage connectivity to centralized exchanges (Binance, Deribit, OKX)
- Prototype and iterate on trading strategies with traders and researchers
- Improve system reliability via automation, monitoring, and robust recovery mechanisms
- Troubleshoot issues across trading systems and exchange integrations
- Contribute to architecture and shape the digital assets platform
- Take ownership of production systems and drive continuous improvements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in trading, crypto, or real-time systems
- Strong C++ development skills for production-grade systems
- Hands-on experience integrating with centralized crypto exchanges (Binance, Deribit, OKX)
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, or similar) is a plus
- Good understanding of distributed systems, networking, and failure handling
- Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments
