Software Engineer: EC&I / Automation

The Role

We are looking for an EC&I / Automation Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The successful candidate will have experience in automation, controls, or electrical engineering and be keen to expand their knowledge across industrial automation, electrical design, and machine control systems.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams in the design, development, testing, and commissioning of bespoke equipment, contributing throughout the entire project lifecycle from initial concept to final installation and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• PLC programming and automation development (Rockwell / Siemens)

• HMI configuration and development

• Electrical design and control panel support

• Producing electrical drawings and technical documentation

• Testing, commissioning, and fault finding

• Supporting customer projects and internal engineering improvements

• Working with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver bespoke solutions

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Degree/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation, or a related discipline

• Interest in industrial automation and control systems

• Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn

Desirable

• PLC programming experience (Rockwell, Siemens, or similar)

• Electrical design experience

• Knowledge of industrial control systems and instrumentation

• Experience with commissioning or fault finding
