The Engineering team at Cloudflare is responsible for the software platform that handles millions of HTTP requests per second. We also develop tools that enable our colleagues to deliver products swiftly and manage software updates across over 200 data centers worldwide. Our Front Line (FL) group maintains and develops the largest web server globally, processing over 150 million HTTP requests per second.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of engineers to enhance the availability, safety, and reliability of Cloudflare’s edge ecosystem.
• Work on improving the platform to boost reliability, availability, and security at the edge.
• Contribute to the development of the world’s leading web server by addressing unique challenges and designing innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong background in practical computer science, including knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and concurrency control systems.
• Experience in performance engineering and managing large, distributed systems.
• Ability to foster communication and consensus among teams.
• A commitment to continuous improvement in operations and product development.

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with programming languages such as Rust and Go.
• Understanding of web servers and web protocols.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and web security issues.
