Software Engineer, Frontend (TypeScript)

In this role you will contribute to the Avigilon Alta Video UI team, developing and maintaining the VMS frontend to support a scalable, real-time platform. You will collaborate across teams to implement state management and API integrations, while applying engineering best practices. The position offers hybrid work from Edinburgh and a chance to impact safety-focused products. You will work on maintainable, high-performance UI solutions that connect across the Motorola portfolio.

• Analyze, develop, and maintain software for the organization’s products and systems
• Develop, validate, test, and debug maintainable code
• Implement state management patterns and API integrations to support a scaling ecosystem
• Understand and apply CI/CD principles and basic deployment using Git
• Collaborate with other teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Contribute to building reliable, real-time UI tooling

• 1-3 years of software engineering experience
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, TypeScript
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (Vue 3, Pinia, Vuex, or Redux)
• Understanding of application state patterns and data flows
• RESTful APIs and websockets, basic web development principles
• Foundational data structures/algorithms and design patterns
• Team player with collaborative mindset
