Software Engineer - IAM, Aura

As a Software Engineer in IAM, you will shape and implement the IAM roadmap for Neo4j Aura, delivering secure, scalable identity solutions. You’ll work with security, development, and product teams to consolidate IAM capabilities across AuraDB, applying zero-trust and least-privilege principles. You’ll build authentication and authorization frameworks and mentor others, delivering clear documentation and practical security patterns. This role combines planning with hands-on execution in a fast-moving, cloud-focused environment.

• Shape and design IAM architecture across Aura
• Develop and maintain scalable IAM solutions including identity governance
• Implement authentication protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, LDAP, MFA) and lifecycle management (SCIM)
• Integrate with enterprise SSO providers (Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity)
• Design access control paradigms (RBAC, ABAC, PBAC, ReBAC, FGA)
• Manage application authentication (Auth0) and enforce least privilege policies
• Support authentication/encryption methods (JWT, service accounts, SPIFFE/SPIRE, mTLS, signed requests)
• Apply zero trust security principles and ensure regulatory compliance (SOC 2)
• Collaborate with engineering, UX, and business teams using Agile; mentor others; produce clear documentation

• 7+ years of backend development experience
• Familiarity with IAM systems (Okta, Auth0, Ping Identity, Oracle Access Manager, AWS IAM, Azure AD/Entra ID)
• Deep understanding of IAM principles and identity lifecycle management
• Strong Python or GoLang experience
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, Azure)
