Overview

In this Software Engineer II role at JPMorganChase within Commercial and Investment Banking, you contribute to designing, developing, and debugging secure, scalable software as part of an agile team. You work on end-to-end software components that support the firm’s technology products, with a focus on quality, security, and reliability. You will grow your skills across the software lifecycle and leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and delivery speed. This position emphasizes collaboration, inclusion, and delivering robust solutions in a large corporate environment.

Responsibilities
  • Execute standard software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting
  • Write secure, high-quality code in at least one language with limited guidance
  • Design and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream/downstream systems
  • Apply technical troubleshooting to resolve basic complex problems
  • Leverage enterprise AI coding assist tools to improve quality, speed, and productivity with peer review and secure coding standards
  • Utilize SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to increase automation value
  • Gather and analyze large data sets to inform secure, stable application development
  • Learn and apply secure, stable development practices
  • Contribute to an inclusive team culture
Key requirements
  • Hands-on experience with React Js, Java, Spring Boot microservices, Oracle Databases, Kafka, and GKP deployments
  • Practical experience in system design, development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience coding in one or more modern programming languages in a large corporate environment
  • Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle
  • Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
  • Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes (cloud/AI/mobile)
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise AI-assisted development tools and ability to validate AI outputs
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivities and security
