Software Engineer II - Python

As a Software Engineer II in the Markets Technology Trading team, you contribute to building secure, stable, and scalable software components for the firm’s technology products. You work within an agile team to design, develop, and troubleshoot solutions, growing your skills toward higher levels of responsibility. You leverage AI-assisted development tools and sound coding practices to deliver high-quality software in a large corporate environment. • Execute standard software design, development, and troubleshooting tasks
• Write secure, high-quality code using Python or other languages with limited guidance
• Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve quality and speed, with peer review and automated testing
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream/downstream systems
• Apply SDLC tools and automation to improve value of development
• Troubleshoot technical problems of basic complexity
• Process and analyze large data sets to identify issues and inform decisions
• Learn and apply system processes and secure development practices

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and advanced Python experience
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-approved AI-assisted development tools and ability to validate AI outputs
• Strong Python skills for data processing and production engineering
• Experience coding in a modern language and database querying in a large corporate environment
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including security considerations
