Overview

In this role you will contribute to building and maintaining customer-facing Android mobile features for Chase UK, partnering with cross-functional teams to impact the customer experience. You will implement clean Kotlin code, modern UI with Jetpack Compose, and participate in testing, debugging, and agile ceremonies to support reliable delivery. You’ll stay current with Android trends and leverage AI-assisted capabilities to enhance development while upholding security and data handling standards. Responsibilities
  • Define, design, and release new Android features with cross-functional teams
  • Develop and maintain Kotlin code aligned with modern Android practices
  • Build UIs using Jetpack Compose
  • Contribute to testing strategies for reliability and performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in collaboration with engineers
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and sprint planning
  • Communicate progress and blockers to distributed teams
  • Engage in code reviews and enforce engineering best practices
  • Stay updated on Android trends and platform updates
  • Utilize enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate design and coding tasks while ensuring data security
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering
  • Solid knowledge of Kotlin and modern Android development
  • Experience building Android apps with Jetpack Compose
  • Understanding of MVVM, MVI, or similar architecture patterns
  • Familiarity with Android Jetpack libraries and components
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, testable code with quality focus
  • Understanding of REST APIs and backend integration
  • Awareness of performance, accessibility, and security in mobile development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with AI-assisted code/design validation and data handling awareness
  • Strong collaboration and communication across distributed teams
