Overview

In this role you will help extend Remote Compose, collaborating with the Core team to deliver new frontend functionality. You will partner with cross-functional groups across wearables, homescreen widgets, and other surfaces to enable use on novel form factors. You’ll shape API design with team and community input, always prioritizing an excellent developer experience. This position sits within Google’s Platforms and Devices group, offering breadth across platforms and a focus on scalable, developer-centric tools. You will work on high-impact projects that advance how developers build and deploy UI components.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Core Remote Compose team to build new functionality in the Remote Compose codebase
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams across wearables, homescreen widgets, and other form factors to enable usage on new surfaces
  • Iterate on API design with input from team and community
  • Maintain focus on delivering the best developer experience
Key requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages (or 1 year with advanced degree)
  • 2 years of Android application development experience
  • Experience with Kotlin
  • Collaborative mindset
