Software Engineer III - Cloud Platform

You will contribute as a seasoned engineer on an agile team to design and deliver scalable, secure software within the Kafka Platform Team. The role focuses on real-time data streaming, enterprise-scale reliability, and continuous improvement across multiple business functions in support of the firm’s objectives. You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners to enable mission-critical applications and leverage AI-assisted coding tools to boost quality and speed. Responsibilities- Design, implement, and troubleshoot software on the Kafka Platform for scalable, reliable outcomes
- Produce secure, high-quality production code and maintain synchronized algorithms across systems
- Create architecture/design artifacts for complex applications across the lifecycle
- Analyze large data sets to improve software and system performance
- Identify hidden data patterns to improve coding hygiene and system architecture
- Leverage enterprise AI coding assist tools to boost code quality, speed, and productivity with peer reviews and secure coding
- Utilize SDLC tools and automation to maximize value of development and automation
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
- Hands-on experience in system design, app development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience coding/debugging/maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern languages and DB querying
- Experience administering Kafka and AWS deployments
- Java development skills with Kafka (consumers/producers)
- Experience with AWS deployments
- Experience with Kubernetes deployments
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, application resiliency, and security, and general SDLC knowledge
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development tools and ability to evaluate AI outputs for correctness, performance, security
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure data handling
