Overview

As a Software Engineer III in DevOps/AWS within Payments Technology, you design and deliver scalable, secure software for a leading financial services firm. You work on cross-functional teams to build trusted technology products and improve operational stability. You will leverage AI-assisted engineering practices to enhance code quality and delivery while shaping architecture with external and internal partners. This role offers opportunities to influence production systems at scale and contribute to a secure, high-performance payments platform.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver secure, production-grade software solutions and troubleshoot complex issues
  • Develop high-quality code, perform code reviews, and ensure reliability and performance
  • Promote enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality and speed, with secure coding and automated testing
  • Apply SDLC tooling to maximize automation and disruption-free delivery
  • Identify recurring issues and drive root-cause analysis and automation to improve stability
  • Lead architecture evaluation with vendors and internal teams for compatibility with existing systems
  • Build scalable data pipelines on Databricks using Spark/Delta and Databricks workflows
  • Provide technical support during development and resolve environment-specific issues
  • Monitor and troubleshoot systems using Splunk and observability platforms (Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana)
  • Maintain asset inventory and support cost rationalization efforts with architects
  • Utilize engineering tools (Git/Bitbucket, Jira, ServiceNow, pre-commit hooks) and code in Python/Java
  • Apply enterprise AI coding assistant tools for code quality and speed, with peer review and secure coding practices
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with applied experience
  • Strong CI/CD and release management experience (Jules, Jenkins, Spinnaker)
  • Hands-on DevOps with Kubernetes and Docker, including deployment automation
  • Deep AWS platform experience (EC2, ECS, EKS, ELB, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Glue, EMR, ElastiCache, CloudWatch, CodeDeploy)
  • Infrastructure provisioning with Terraform; configuring AWS RDS and Aurora via Terraform
  • Linux administration and high-availability production, CERT, and testing environments
  • PostgreSQL (RDS/Aurora) and MongoDB; automation scripts in Python and Bash
  • Databricks (Spark, Delta, notebooks, workflows), GraphQL familiarity
  • Technical support during development and debugging across environments
  • Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana)
  • Proficiency with Git/Bitbucket, Jira, ServiceNow, and pre-commit hooks
  • Strong Python and Java programming, including distributed data processing
  • AI-assisted coding tools usage and creating reusable patterns for the team
  • Effective communication with stakeholders and senior leadership
