Overview

As a Software Engineer III, you help build a cloud-native, globally scalable core banking platform. You work on microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and production-ready tooling, collaborating with fintech partners and internal teams. You’ll improve code quality with automated tests and secure coding practices while shaping architecture and deployment strategy. This role offers a path to influence large-scale financial technology and the cloud transition at GBP, with opportunities to leverage AI-assisted development and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement and optimize scalable microservices with best practices
  • Write secure, high-quality code and automated tests
  • Create architecture and design artifacts for complex apps while ensuring constraints are met
  • Identify code and data patterns to improve hygiene and system design
  • Manage deployments from test to production and troubleshoot issues
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams to integrate features coherently
  • Translate product requirements into trackable tickets
  • Contribute to engineering communities and promote inclusive team culture
  • Leverage enterprise AI coding assist tools to improve quality and speed while maintaining security
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
  • Hands-on experience in system design, development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficient in Go, Python and/or Java
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform
  • Experience in developing automated tests as part of the development cycle
  • Knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies (CI/CD, resiliency, security)
  • Experience with cloud provider environments
  • Experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and evaluating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
  • Understanding of secure handling of data and responsible AI usage in engineering workflows
