Software Engineer III - Java, React & AI

In this role you will design and deliver secure, scalable Java-based applications and React front-ends to support credit risk workflows at JPMorganChase. You will work within the Corporate Technology Credit Risk team to build trusted technology that enables sound financial decision-making at a global scale. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners, apply AI-assisted coding tools, and contribute to reliable, maintainable systems in a fast-paced, agile environment. • Design and develop secure, high-quality Java-based applications and services for credit risk workflows
• Build responsive front-end features using React for risk analysts and stakeholders
• Write and optimize SQL queries and data models for reporting and analytics
• Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality and speed, with peer review and secure coding standards
• Utilize SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation and value
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications
• Identify hidden data patterns to improve coding hygiene, architecture, and reliability
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and business teams to deliver solutions addressing credit risk challenges
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through code reviews and knowledge sharing

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with practical experience
• Hands-on system design, development, testing, and operational stability in enterprise-scale environments
• Proficiency in Java for backend development with modern frameworks and OOD principles
• Experience building front-end solutions with React or similar JavaScript frameworks
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and ability to evaluate AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and secure handling in engineering workflows
• Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for development, analytics, or reporting
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, resiliency, and secure coding practices
• Ability to debug and maintain code in a large corporate tech environment
