Software Engineer III - React

As a Software Engineer III on JPMorgan Chase's Climate Nature & Social Risk Technology team, you will deliver trusted, scalable UI solutions in a secure environment. You will work within an agile team to design and implement enterprise web applications using React and TypeScript, aligning with a design system. You’ll lead UI design decisions, focus on quality, accessibility, and performance, and contribute to automation and AI-assisted development. This role offers impact through robust front-end delivery and collaboration across cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities- Own delivery of complex UI features using React and TypeScript, aligned to design system and front-end standards
- Lead UI technical design including architecture, state management, API patterns, routing, and error handling
- Improve quality and operability via automated testing, accessibility, performance, and UI telemetry
- Enhance CI/CD for UI delivery, including linting, tests, quality gates, and release automation
- Utilize enterprise AI-assisted development tools to accelerate refactoring, feature changes, testing, and documentation with peer validation
- Develop architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure they meet constraints
- Analyze data from large datasets to drive continuous improvement of software and systems
- Identify hidden problems and use insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
- Strong hands-on experience with React + TypeScript and advanced component patterns
- Experience in UI testing (Jest/RTL and Cypress/Playwright) and debugging
- Proven ability to design accessible, performant UIs (WCAG, profiling, bundle optimization)
- Experience implementing and improving CI/CD for front-end applications with automated gates
- Disciplined use of AI coding assistants (Claude AI or equivalent) with verification
- Experience using enterprise AI-assisted development tools with validation for correctness, performance, and security
- Understanding of SDLC and agile practices including CI/CD, resiliency, and security
