Responsibilities
  • Own parts of the product and contribute as a subject matter expert
  • Write simple, extensible code following standards and best practices
  • Test code thoroughly and ensure high quality in reviews
  • Independently design software components with maintainability and simplicity
  • Troubleshoot defects and provide excellent customer support
  • Document software to aid future developers and learning
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and planning
  • Foster a collaborative code review culture and resolve differing opinions
  • Contribute to scalable, flexible internal tools for regulatory needs
Key requirements
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience building scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems and APIs using Java
  • Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, messaging queues, and concurrency handling
  • Understanding of modern architectures, design patterns, and platform nuances
  • Knowledge of release process best practices for APIs and services in production
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS
  • Experience with testing concepts and integrating testing in the SDLC
  • Strong ownership, urgency, and drive
