Software Engineer - KDB+

Location: London / Hybrid

We’re working with a fast-growing technology business that is looking for aKDB+ Engineer to join its team in London.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working with high-performance, time-series data and wants to solve complex technical problems in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

You’ll work across the full development lifecycle, designing and developing solutions using kdb+ , while working closely with both technical teams and clients to understand requirements and deliver robust solutions.

What you’ll be doing

• Developing and optimising kdb+ / q solutions for high-volume, time-series data.
• Designing and implementing scalable, high-performance data solutions.
• Working across the full software development lifecycle , from requirements through to deployment and support.
• Collaborating with engineers, stakeholders and clients to understand problems and develop effective solutions.
• Troubleshooting complex technical issues and continuously improving system performance.
• Contributing to best practices around development, testing and delivery.
• Taking ownership of projects and working independently while contributing to a wider engineering team.

What they're looking for

• 2+ years of hands-on kdb+ development experience.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong analytical, logical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of software development methodologies and the SDLC .
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills .
• Experience within Capital Markets or Investment Banking is advantageous.
