Software Engineer - Platform Metal | UK | Remote

In this remote role, you will help build and manage the raw hardware-to-Kubernetes foundation that powers Grafana Cloud’s platform. You’ll work within the Foundations group to provision metal environments, networking, and clusters, enabling engineers to deploy and run workloads at scale. This role combines hands-on ops with platform development, shaping the reliability and performance of our private infrastructure. You’ll collaborate across distributed teams to invest in capabilities that matter to Grafana Cloud users.

• Manage physical Metal environment from bare metal to Kubernetes
• Operate cluster networking components (load balancing, NAT, DNS, CNIs, cross-cluster communication)
• Oversee scheduling and autoscaling mechanisms
• Maintain Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules for CSP resources
• Handle versioning and compatibility for Crossplane and Terraform core/providers
• Collaborate with Grafana Cloud application teams to align capabilities with user needs

• Go, Python, and Shell proficiency
• Experience operating and managing Kubernetes-based workloads
• Datacenter experience
• Participation in an on-call rotation
• Open source or community project experience (bonus)
