Overview
In this hands-on role, you will design and build components for a modern data platform using Python, while shaping ETL pipelines and distributed systems in a small, collaborative team. You’ll own core data engineering tasks, from data lakes to platform reliability and CI/CD improvements, contributing to a high-performance, data-driven environment. This position offers strong ownership, impact, and the potential for substantial bonus in a growth-focused hedge fund setting. You’ll work across backend, data, and frontend areas to support scalable data operations.

- Design and implement data platform components using Python
- Develop and optimise ETL pipelines, Data Lakes/Lakehouses and distributed systems
- Improve infrastructure, observability and CI/CD practices
- Maintain and evolve microservices, ETL, and Excel add-ins
- Support platform operations ensuring reliability and performance
- Strong Python backend development experience
- Experience with financial or market data
- Experience designing and operating data-intensive and distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of relational, NoSQL, and columnar databases
- Willingness to own work across the full development lifecycle
