Overview
In this role you will design and build components for a modern data platform using Python, with ownership across data engineering, ETL, and distributed systems. You’ll improve infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability while maintaining reliable, high-performance services. You’ll work in a small, collaborative team on end-to-end development and operations, shaping a data-driven platform for financial data. This is a hands-on position with meaningful impact and opportunities for growth and bonus potential.

- Design and build data platform components using Python
- Develop and optimise ETL pipelines, Data Lakes/Lakehouses and distributed systems
- Improve infrastructure, observability and CI/CD practices
- Maintain and evolve existing systems (microservices, ETL, Excel add-ins)
- Support platform operations, ensuring reliability and performance
- Strong backend development experience with Python
- Experience with financial or market data
- Experience designing and operating data-intensive and distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of databases (Relational, NoSQL and Columnar)
- Willingness to own and work across full development lifecycle
- Collaborative and pragmatic with stakeholder management skills
- 2:1 or above in a STEM discipline, MSc likely
