Overview

In this role you will help build and maintain the distributed aspects of the Neo4j database. You will work across the stack from core storage to the managed Aura service, delivering high availability and scalable features. You’ll collaborate with support, SRE, product, and other teams to design and ship new capabilities. The work combines deep systems engineering with opportunities to learn and grow, in a globally deployed product. This is a chance to shape how customers use graph databases at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Develop end-to-end features for the core database and Aura managed service
  • Ensure high availability, distributed consistency, and horizontal scalability
  • Collaborate with support engineers, SREs, and product managers to ship improvements
  • Debug tough issues across the stack and in production environments
  • Learn, experiment, and grow within the team while contributing to the product and service
  • Work on both low-level IO optimizations and high-level distributed control plane tasks

  • Ability to work independently within a flexible software development organization
  • Strong communication and collaboration on complex topics
  • Experience with distributed systems through usage, administration or development
