• Lead and coach a team of software engineers, offering mentoring and technical guidance
• Foster a high-performing engineering culture focused on quality and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with Product and technology stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Contribute to engineering strategy, technical decision-making and long-term plans
• Support recruitment and growth of the engineering team
• Champion software development practices and raise engineering standards
• Ensure teams have processes and support to deliver reliable, maintainable software
• Identify opportunities to improve development efficiency and productivity
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership
• Promote pragmatic problem-solving and continual improvement of the technology estate

• Several years of experience managing software engineering teams
• Strong technical background in software development before moving into leadership
• Experience leading teams through growth and organizational change
• Solid understanding of modern software engineering principles
• Experience working on complex, customer-facing digital products
• Ability to understand technical challenges and make sound engineering decisions
• Proven coaching, mentoring and people development skills
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
• Commercially aware approach balancing technical quality with delivery and business objectives
