Software Engineering Manager - Online (Order Management)

In this role you will lead the Online software engineering team to modernise the order management platform, enabling seamless customer experiences and supporting M&S online growth. You will shape the technical roadmap, drive delivery through agile practices, and ensure scalable, reliable, and secure systems. You’ll mentor engineers, align engineering work with business objectives, and collaborate across product, design, and programme management. • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing software engineering team with a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
• Oversee agile delivery of software projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines
• Provide technical leadership, set standards, evaluate new technologies, and guide the architectural roadmap
• Oversee quality assurance and maintenance, ensuring performance, reliability, and usability of software systems

• Previous polyglot hands-on senior software engineer experience
• Experience with highly scalable back-end solutions, ideally Java-based
• Experience with order management systems (IBM Sterling a plus)
• Extensive background in software engineering across multiple systems and technologies
• Experience building and leading teams of senior software engineers
• Strong understanding of system design, software architecture, cloud, and standard methodologies
• Promoter of DevOps practices (build it, run it)
