Overview

As a Software/Hardware Integration Engineer, you will drive the integration, verification and validation of complex systems that combine software, FPGA and hardware. You’ll work with cross‑disciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality artefacts and robust solutions. Your role focuses on testing, traceability to design requirements and continual improvement within a safety‑critical context. This role offers hands‑on exposure to state‑of‑the‑art subsystems on a high‑profile programme. You will contribute to Rolls‑Royce’s mission to deliver reliable, high‑performance technology at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Create test documentation: plans, procedures, reports and automated scripts
  • Develop test equipment and perform LRU testing across functionality and environmental scenarios
  • Implement automated testing for FPGA designs and validate against DOORS requirements
  • Investigate failures and perform root cause analysis using structured problem solving
  • Maintain change control, configuration management and traceability to requirements
  • Support continuous improvement to reduce cost and timescales while improving quality
  • Assist with audits, design reviews and verification activities
  • Coordinate with software, systems, hardware, FPGA and safety teams to deliver integrated solutions
Key requirements
  • Experience with FPGA
  • Track record of integrating complex electronic products and fault diagnosis
  • Background in one of digital electronics design and verification, programmable logic device design and verification, software design and verification or real-time systems
  • Self‑motivated and eager to learn new techniques and tools
  • Awareness of safety‑critical development constraints (IEC62566)
  • Experience in timing analysis
