Overview

In this role within Arm's CPU Technology team, you will analyze benchmarks to identify optimization opportunities and drive performance improvements across software and hardware. You will collaborate with software, compiler, OS, and applications teams to implement improvements and work with CPU design groups to uncover bottlenecks. You will develop and run performance tests on C/C++ models, emulators, or real devices across various operating systems. You will collaborate with modelling engineers, CPU design teams, and the Architecture group to align on roadmaps and technical validation. This role offers the chance to influence Arm’s core subsystems and contribute to scalable, cross-market IP

Responsibilities
  • Analyse benchmarks and workloads to identify optimization opportunities and performance limitations
  • Collaborate with software teams, compiler, OS, and applications to implement improvements
  • Collaborate with CPU design teams to identify bottlenecks
  • Write/Extract performance tests from existing software and run on C/C++ models, emulators, or real devices across OS
  • Work with modelling engineers, CPU design teams, and Arm Architecture group
  • Drive technical activities
  • Present technical results to Business teams and partners
Key requirements
  • University or Engineering School degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Several years of software, hardware, or mathematics experience
  • Proven experience in software development alongside technical management
  • Passion to innovate and explore new approaches
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Collaborative mindset across cross-functional teams
  • Drive and diligence
  • HPC, machine learning, distributed applications, web technologies, mobile applications, databases, multi-media (domain breadth)
  • Proficiency in C, C++, Java, Rust, or similar languages
  • Experience with SW performance analysis on platforms like Android, Windows, Linux; knowledge of OS power management and frequency governor effects
