Overview

As Software Quality Engineer I, you contribute to delivering high-quality Turnitin applications through manual and automated testing and by strengthening the test automation framework. You collaborate with product, development, and QA teams in an Agile setting to identify risks and enable rapid feedback. You will explore AI-assisted testing to boost efficiency and coverage, while developing your skills in CI/CD, test strategy, and framework design. This role supports Turnitin’s mission to preserve the integrity of global education and improve learning outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Define and implement QA strategies, plans, and test assets with the Scrum team
  • Design, write, execute, and maintain automated and manual test cases across functional, regression, integration, and scale testing
  • Collaborate with development teams to validate releases across multiple platforms and environments
  • Investigate, triage, and track defects through resolution
  • Identify quality risks early in the Agile cycle and contribute to mitigation plans
  • Explore and integrate modern QA tools and AI-driven testing capabilities to improve efficiency
  • Pursue ongoing professional growth in framework architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and test strategy design
Key requirements
  • 4+ years of software quality engineering experience
  • Hands-on UI Web Automation and API Automation using Java, Python, Jenkins, Docker, Maven, GitHub
  • Strong understanding of STLC and QA concepts and test management
  • Experience with CI/CD/CT tooling (e.g., Jenkins, Git)
  • Practical experience in Agile environments (Scrum & Kanban) and test data management
  • Knowledge of modern QA tools and AI-driven testing approaches
  • Collaborative mindset
