Overview

In this role you will own how software is packaged, released and presented to customers within a growing SaaS environment. You will blend hands-on release management with efforts to modernise release practices across the tech estate. You will manage day-to-day releases for an assigned product stack, coordinate risks and readiness across teams, and balance speed with quality, security and business risk. You will drive automation, governance and release health while coaching engineers to adopt better practices. This is a visible role focused on improving release maturity in a dynamic InsurTech setting.

Responsibilities
  • Own packaging, release and presentation of software to customers in a SaaS setting
  • Manage day-to-day releases for an assigned product stack
  • Coordinate risks, dependencies and release readiness across multiple teams
  • Assess, standardise and automate release practices across products and engineering teams
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure and release automation to reduce toil
  • Embed governance, security and compliance into the delivery process
  • Define release readiness criteria, delivery metrics and environment promotion models
  • Lead release health practices and drive observability and monitoring during releases
  • Coach and influence engineering teams to adopt better release practices
  • Build credibility, assess the estate and lead teams toward improved release maturity
Key requirements
  • Strong release management experience in a SaaS product environment
  • Experience improving CI/CD processes in complex environments
  • Strong technical knowledge with confident communication and risk-based decision making
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across the organisation
  • Technical understanding of Azure DevOps, GitHub, Infrastructure as Code, trunk-based development and GitOps
