Software Systems Engineer

Salary: £70,000 - 100,000 per year
Requirements:
- Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance
- Willingness to travel 20% within the UK and internationally, with more travel possible if of interest
- Experience of SysML-compliant architectural modelling tools such as Rhapsody, Cameo, Gaphor or similar; we currently use Enterprise Architecture and are happy to train you
- Knowledge of software solutions within a software product environment
- Experience in modelling to capture the system design
- Familiarity with interpreting Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) diagrams
- Excellent communication skills, including gathering information from internal and external departments
- Passion for bringing new ideas and questioning the status quo
Responsibilities:
- Work under the guidance of the System Design Authority and closely with the Software Development and Test teams in an Agile environment
- Champion the modelling process as part of the Systems team and contribute to delivering new solutions in the Satellite Communications domain
- Contribute to all stages of the modelling development lifecycle
- Highlight and communicate concerns, results, and ideas to team members from a systems design perspective
- Work with the development team to ascertain software component feasibility, user requirements, and solution details
- Define and contribute to the high-level software system architectural design using relevant peer review processes
- Understand the system aspects of the project and determine the role of software components in the solution
- Get involved in daily operations when needed to meet critical schedules or resolve complex problems
- Engage in retrospective reviews and bring ideas to the table
