Position: Software Tester – Co-op/Intern

Number of Position(s): 1

Duration: 4 Months

Date: Winter Term Jan 4th - Apr 30th, 2027

Location: Hybrid in Ottawa

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

As a part of our team, you will:

  • Development of scripts or applications (Python, Java,JavaScript) to simulatevarious management activities and network scenarios on a web-based (browser) platform
  • Development and execution of test plans to validate functional aspects of the product
  • Investigation of product defects encountered during test scenarios
  • Execution of tests and maintenance of regression and performance test beds, including publishing results and developing additional functionality

Key Skills And Experience

EDUCATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Currently a candidate for a Master's, Bachelor's degree, or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with an accredited school in Canada.

Your Skills And Experience

  • Strong programming skills (Python, Java,JavaScript)
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks (Mocha) as well as web automation components (Selenium, webdriverio, Robot)
  • Ability to learn quickly and to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment
  • Strong problem-resolution skills
  • Knowledge of software and/or testing methodologies
  • UNIX operating environment (RHEL), Windows, Virtual Machines

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Knowledge of database management systems (SQL, Neo4j, PostgreSQL)
  • Networking and telecommunications knowledge
  • UNIX operating environment (RHEL), Windows, Virtual Machines
  • Knowledge of Routing Protocols (ie, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, RIP), and MPLS is an asset.
