Solution Architect (Defence)

In this role you lead multi-skilled agile teams to design and deliver high-quality solutions for customers, aligning functional and non-functional designs with client architectures. You coach and develop a small team, shaping technical direction and standards while exploring new technologies. The position combines hands-on architecture with people leadership and customer advisory, within a people-first, collaborative culture that values growth and impact.

• Lead multi-skilled agile teams to design and deliver high-quality solutions
• Collaborate with customer architects to define functional and non-functional designs
• Advise customers and managers on effort estimates, technical implications, and design complexity
• Coach, develop, and manage performance of junior staff
• Provide direction and leadership to the team to solve challenging problems
• Develop policy and standards with peers and mentor those around you
• Explore new technologies and approaches to support delivery and growth

• Experience in Defence sector
• Active Security or DV Clearance
• Delivered software designs for multi-tiered modern applications
• Understands whole solution architecture concepts and communicates with customer architects
• Prioritises non-functional requirements in design
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) including SaaS and PaaS
• Clear communication of technical design in conversations, docs, and presentations
• Decisive in fast-moving delivery environments
• Demonstrated ability to manage, coach and develop junior staff
