Solution Architect Specialist

As Solution Architect Specialist at BT, you design and deliver scalable, secure big data platform infrastructure and data lake solutions. You will lead architecture design, map business needs to technical outcomes, and ensure automated, resilient operations across the platform stack. You’ll work with cyber security analysts and cross-functional teams on rare, impactful projects, shaping scalable systems and driving knowledge sharing. This role offers deep technical challenges and opportunities for growth within a global security-focused environment.

• Understand customer technical needs and translate into platform decisions
• Define software/hardware choices for the big data platform and data lake
• Design, build and deploy core infrastructure with scalability and resilience
• Automate system builds and routine maintenance
• Ensure auditing, patching and updates follow best practices
• Engage with platform users and support their needs
• Identify and improve inefficient processes
• Mentor juniors and develop training plans
• Contribute to knowledge sharing across the team

• Linux system administration
• Big data technologies and data lakes
• Kubernetes system administration (clusters)
