Solution Architect - UK Defence Accounts

In this role you shape digital, data and technology solutions for UK Defence and National Security accounts. You will work with cross-functional teams to define architectural approaches, assess current states, and craft roadmaps that align with defence governance and security requirements. The position offers impact across multiple suppliers and military stakeholders, in a fast-moving, collaborative environment. You will engage with senior military and civil service stakeholders to drive credible, secure architecture that supports transformation.
Responsibilities- Define and shape architectural solutions across programmes from discovery to design
- Evaluate current solution landscapes, identify gaps and opportunities
- Propose technical solutions and delivery options
- Define programme roadmaps and high-level direction
- Plan transitions and transformation approaches
- Support estimation and business case development
- Navigate technical governance reviews for proposed solutions
- Build and maintain relationships with technical and business stakeholders
- Operate in an agile, multi-functional environment
- Interpret architecture models to inform decisions
- Ensure secure-by-design principles are applied
- Defence delivery experience and understanding of governance, acquisition processes, and collaborative working with military, Civil Service and suppliers
- Strong Solution Architecture experience within Defence or other regulated environments
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and Defence cloud environments (MODCloud or similar)
- Experience with architecture frameworks (TOGAF, NAF, MODAF) and modelling (ArchiMate)
- Experience delivering secure solutions with mandated security assurance and SbD principles
- Ability to define high-level engineering approaches at programme level (roadmaps, transition states)
- MBSE experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect for architecture models and traceability
- Broad knowledge of integration, data, digital services, and case management technologies
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement with senior officials and suppliers
- Eligibility for UK Security Check; DV clearance desirable
