Solution Design Engineer – Healthcare Solutions & Digital Design Delivery

Overview

In this role you will design and govern innovative healthcare tech solutions across customer accounts and construction-delivery projects, aligning designs with clinical workflows and safety. You will lead BIM strategy, ensuring ISO 19650 information management is embedded in project delivery while supporting cross-functional teams. You’ll create technical designs, BOMs and system architectures that are scalable, secure and fit for purpose. The position combines healthcare tech, construction delivery and digital design to shape connected, efficient care environments.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain customer technology roadmaps and solution strategies
  • Lead and develop BIM and ISO 19650 compliant information management practices
  • Design integrated healthcare technology solutions (Nurse Call, Clinical Communications, RTLS, Alarm Management, Safe Building Tech)
  • Produce BOMs, technical specs and equipment schedules
  • Develop system architecture diagrams and integration requirements
  • Ensure security, scalability and resilience of solutions
  • Coordinate designs with architects, M&E consultants, ICT providers and suppliers
  • Support BIM and digital engineering processes across projects
  • Identify and mitigate technical and solution-related risks
  • Support continuous quality improvement and compliance with Health & Safety, Information Security and Quality Management requirements
  • Drive innovation in engineering processes and design standards

Key requirements
  • Associate Degree, HND or equivalent engineering, IT or telecommunications qualification
  • 3-5 years experience in a customer-facing technical engineering or solution design role
  • 3-5 years experience with networking equipment and healthcare technology solutions
  • Experience proposing and delivering technical solution designs and related documentation
  • Experience supporting UK healthcare construction projects (desirable)
  • Knowledge of BIM-enabled projects and ISO 19650 (desirable)
  • AutoCAD proficiency (desirable)
