Overview

As Solution Architect for Enterprise Modernization in Europe, you will lead technical excellence and solution integrity for large modernization programs. You will guide delivery teams, shape proposals, and advance reference architectures within Thoughtworks’ modernization offering. In this role you influence both clients and internal teams, driving asset adoption and capability uplift. You will work across cross-functional groups to ensure delivery quality and scalable modernization outcomes. This is a strategic role with a close tie to Thoughtworks’ mission of transformative technology consulting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance on Enterprise Systems Modernization
  • Support delivery teams in solving complex client problems
  • Contribute to solution design, proposals, and pre-sales activities
  • Develop and refine service accelerators and reference architectures
  • Mentor engineers and architects within the service domain
  • Bridge between delivery teams and global service development
  • Measure success by technical quality, asset adoption, and talent uplift
Key requirements
  • 10+ years in software engineering, platform delivery, or technical consulting
  • 3+ years in a subject matter expert or senior technical advisory role within Enterprise Systems Modernization
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Certifications in relevant platforms, tools, or frameworks for the Enterprise Systems Modernization domain
  • Experience contributing to internal accelerators, open-source projects, or client-aligned IP development
  • Familiarity with enterprise transformation programs and the consulting delivery lifecycle
  • Excellent communication to translate technical insights into actionable business decisions
  • Collaborative with mentorship abilities
  • Solution-oriented with asset contribution commitment
  • Deep expertise in modernization strategies, cloud architecture, and platform thinking
  • Strong engineering skills and knowledge of architecture patterns
  • Toolchain understanding and experience supporting solution design and technical delivery in complex environments
